I felt like baking and jam… and trying out the much famed vanilla vanilla magnolia cupcake recipe. Of course you could use whatever jam you have on hand. I desperately wanted a cream cheese frosting but darn it there was none in the fridge (surprise surprise this stuff doesn’t last long around here), and for reasons I will not mention but are painfully related to cycling to and from work I did not feel like walking to the supermarket!! OW.

These are so, so good.

This is my second batch so I can pretty much guarantee that if you like coconut and dense cakes then you will like these. And cherries. I have more of a glace cherry addiction than I like to admit and nothing beats biting into what appears to be a plain cake and finding hidden whole glace cherries in there. Ohh baby.

well i tried to make some super yum cupcakeys for my awesome friend Hong but I had no cocoa… so I tried my best to make do with what random ingredients I had… so I found this recipe on epicurious and modified it a tad. The original recipe calls for 200grams of chocolate all up.

I have been wasting time/self educating myself on all sorts of random things today.. wordpress, css, a bit of study for my Microsoft 50-236 exam, SLR’s, organizing my recipe collection when I think I have made a bit of a discovery…

i think there is some kind of link between baking/cupcake decorating/general awesomeness and being a female software engineer/programmer/real life girl geek. for my proof i bring you the all round greatness of:
